Shipping Policy

1. Order Processing

  • We process orders everyday, excluding Haitian public holidays.
  • Orders placed are processed the same day; orders placed after the cut-off or on weekends/holidays are processed on the next business day.
  • Processing (handling and preparation) typically takes 1–3 business days, but may take longer during peak periods or due to customs requirements

2. Shipping Methods & Rates

We offer the following shipping options:

  • Rates vary based on weight, destination, and service level. Final shipping cost is shown at checkout.
  • Free standard shipping may be offered for orders over [X amount] or during promotions.

3. Shipping Destinations

  • We deliver within Haiti, including Port-au-Prince and select provinces.
  • International shipping may be offered on request for export shipments; additional customs, duties, and international transit delays may apply.
  • We do not ship to P.O. boxes or military/FPO/APO addresses

4. Import Documentation & Customs (Food Imports into Haiti)

For all food shipments entering Haiti, the following documentation is required by Haitian authorities and the Ministry of Agriculture:

  • Phytosanitary or zoosanitary certificate (where applicable)
  • Certificate of origin
  • Import permit/sanitary certificate, valid for 15 days, issued by the Ministry of Agriculture/Quarantine Office
  • Commercial invoice, freight invoice, and bill of lading or air waybill
  • Additional documentation as required: laboratory certificate, fumigation certificate, weight/quality

Your order may experience customs inspection delays or additional charges:

  • Customs duties and taxes are calculated on the CIF (Cost, Insurance, Freight) value and include:
    • Verification fee (5 % of CIF)
    • Value-added tax (10 %)
    • Territorial Collectivities Fund (2 % of CIF)
    • Special Duty (1 % of CIF)
  • Physical inspections may be conducted at the port or quarantine facility. If items do not meet standards, they may be rejected, returned, or confiscated

5. Delivery Estimates & Timing

  • Transit times are estimates from dispatch date.
  • Actual delivery may vary due to customs, weather, or carrier delays.
  • If your delivery is delayed, the shipping provider will notify you with updates.
  • If you expect delivery by a certain date, please order early or select express shipping

6. Lost, Damaged, or Missing Packages

  • Inspect your package upon delivery. Report any damage, missing items, or delivery issues within 48 hours to support@buyfoodhaiti.com.
  • We may ask for photos or documentation of packaging damage.
  • We will work with the carrier to resolve the issue and may offer a refund, replacement, or reshipment depending on circumstances TermlyUsercentrics.

7. Shipping Restrictions & Prohibited Items

  • We follow Haitian and carrier rules. Some items cannot be shipped by air or sea (e.g. perishables that cannot remain chilled, prohibited food ingredients).
  • We do not ship to APO/FPO addresses, nor do we offer cash on delivery (COD) for international shipments FedEx.

8. Cancellations & Refunds

  • Orders can be canceled before shipment for a full refund.
  • Once shipped, cancellations may not be possible, but please contact us and we will assist.
  • If you purchase shipping insurance, claims for lost or damaged items may be processed through the insurance provider.
